{Diabetic} A.I.
Today we get to celebrate the artificial pancreas! MiniMed got FDA approval for their closed loop system. I first saw the news posted on the JDRF facebook page, and then I went on to read about 100 articles about it. A closed-loop means so much. It means less of forgetting to give myself insulin for dinner (WHICH I JUST REALIZE I DID). It means better control for pregnant people. It means less beeps and more sleep and...and...and...MORE LIFE!
Cue the insulin-soaked tears!
But, even as everyone in the diabetes world is celebrating, is it bad for me to want more?
I want a closed-loop that also gives glucagon to save us from those scaaaaary lows.
I want a closed-loop that doesn't use that {uncomfortable} MiniMed sensor. #dex4lyfe
I want a closed-loop that is tubeless. #tubesgetstuckoneverything
I guess beggars can't be choosers, but I want it all...now pardon me as I go to find a way to sign up for this new pancreas :)
