I've been battling a sinus infection for about a year. Like truly, one whole year. Recently the pain got so bad that I had to go on medicine. I was on one antibiotic for 10 days, and now I'm starting another one for 10 more days.
I'm not against antibiotics by any means, but I know that they kill your gut, and that makes me worried. Soooo I've been pounding coconut kefir and probiotics and goat's milk yogurt like a good millennial, and I'm actually feeling better. My face is finally feeling, dare I say, normal.
But you know what is weirdly NOT feeling better...my blood sugars.
Today was one of those days. My new transmitter didn't sync, so I had to get a new one. Which means I'm going on day 3 with no data. Which is hard. Whenever I take out my CGM, I usually run high ALL. THE. TIME. Like, my body is freaked out that I don't know what my blood sugar is, so it runs purely on adrenaline or something, and it completely forgets the fact that I used to function like this every single day for over 20 years...but whatevs. I've kind of convinced myself that it's the new medicine (Cipro) but I've taken that a bunch of other times, and never really had problems. I've also convinced myself that it's from the green tea latte I had today (probably the culprit). But, with diabetes, WHO KNOWS?!
So, here's to a night of pre-bolusing the crap out of dinner, to *hopefully* inserting a new sensor, and feeling better tomorrow morning.
